Peepal Plant Growing on Balcony or Roof Wall? Remove It Within 24 Hours Using This Simple Home Remedy, Reveals Agri Rathore

A Peepal plant growing in cracks on your balcony or rooftop is not just an eyesore—it can pose serious structural risks to your walls. Its deep roots can slowly hollow out concrete and weaken the foundation over time. However, Agri expert Agri Rathore shares a simple and highly effective natural remedy using alum (fitkari) and asafoetida (hing) to safely remove the plant.

Why It’s a Problem
Plants like Peepal or Banyan growing in wall cracks can damage the aesthetics of your home while also weakening the structural integrity of rooftops and balconies. These plants develop deep roots that can split concrete. While Peepal is considered sacred, it’s important to remove it carefully to avoid damage.

Step 1: Stop Water Supply
Peepal plants need moisture to survive. If the plant is small, first ensure that no water reaches the crack—check balcony pipelines or wall dampness. Once deprived of water, the plant will gradually dry up, making it easier to pull out by hand, and preventing regrowth.

Step 2: Use Alum to Dry the Plant
According to Agri Rathore, alum is the most effective way to dry the Peepal plant. Crush a large piece of alum and mix it with water to form a thick paste. Apply this mixture directly on the roots and the surrounding cracks. The acidic nature of alum blocks the plant’s nutrient system. Within 24–48 hours, you will notice the plant beginning to dry.

Step 3: Remove Roots and Bark
For older plants with thick roots, simply applying the paste may not be enough. Carefully remove the upper branches and peel the bark from the stem. This allows the remedy to penetrate the roots effectively. If possible, loosen the roots with a knife or chisel to help the plant detach from the wall.

Step 4: Make a Hing-Alum Paste
To completely eliminate deeply embedded roots, make a paste using hing and alum. Mix a small amount of hing with alum powder and water to create a thick paste. Apply this on peeled sections and around the roots. The paste seeps into the roots, killing the plant from inside without harming the wall.

Step 5: Prevent Regrowth
After the plant has dried and been removed, do not leave the crack open. Rainwater or dust can allow new seeds to sprout. Clean the area thoroughly and fill the crack with cement or putty to restore wall strength and prevent future growth.

By following this simple and chemical-free method, homeowners can protect their walls and foundations while safely removing stubborn Peepal plants.
