Cleaning the toilet is a chore nobody enjoys. But what if your toilet could clean itself automatically, without you touching a brush even once? A creative home hack shared on the YouTube channel ‘Vardan Pakwan’ shows how a simple pen cap, combined with household cleaning ingredients, can make this possible. Once prepared, the solution works with every flush, keeping your toilet fresh and hygienic.
Materials Needed
- A used pen cap
- Baking soda
- Detergent powder
- Toilet cleaner
- Old bowl and wooden spoon
How to Prepare the Cleaning Paste
- Take an old, unused bowl.
- Add one tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of detergent powder.
- Mix in a small amount of toilet cleaner to form a thick paste.
- Use a wooden spoon to combine everything, avoiding direct contact with your hands.
Using the Pen Cap as a Slow-Release Dispenser
- Fill the thick paste into a pen cap. It will act as a slow-release dispenser, gradually releasing the cleaning solution into the flush water.
- Cover the open end with a small piece of polythene, securing it tightly with a thread. Trim any excess plastic to prevent it from interfering with the flush mechanism.
- Make 4–5 tiny holes in the polythene using a needle or pin. These allow water to flow in and dissolve the paste slowly.
Installing in the Flush Tank
- Tie a long thread to the back of the pen cap.
- Submerge the cap inside the flush tank, letting the thread hang outside for easy removal.
- Close the tank lid carefully, ensuring the thread is secured along the edge.
Automatic Cleaning with Every Flush
Once installed, every flush releases a mixture of baking soda, detergent, and toilet cleaner into the bowl. This effectively removes yellow stains, dirt, and odor, keeping the toilet clean without repeated scrubbing. This low-cost, low-effort hack ensures your bathroom remains fresh and hygienic at all times.
