Nita Ambani has once again proven that when it comes to grace, heritage, and regal fashion, no one comes close. Known for championing Indian artisans across the world, the country’s richest wife stunned everyone with her latest traditional look—one that beautifully blended luxury, legacy, and Indian craftsmanship.

Mukesh Ambani, as per Forbes, is India’s wealthiest individual, and the grandeur of the Ambani family’s lifestyle often reflects that stature. But it is Nita Ambani who has perfected the art of presenting India’s cultural richness through her fashion choices. Her newest appearance at the Swadesh flagship celebration was yet another example.
Nita Ambani arrived at the event wearing a magnificent peacock blue Banarasi saree from Swadesh, instantly creating a royal visual. The event, hosted under the Reliance Swadesh initiative, honoured India’s artisans and craftsmen — a cause Nita has long supported.
However, this time, it was not just the saree but her 100-year-old heirloom earrings and her mother’s hand harness that captured everyone’s attention.
Peacock Banarasi Saree With Exquisite Kadua Weave
The Swadesh saree selected for the event featured intricate meena motifs crafted with the traditional kadua weaving technique, known for its painstaking and time-intensive craftsmanship. Every motif on the saree is woven individually using silk threads and zari — a hallmark of true Banarasi artistry.
The saree showcased elaborate floral and peacock-inspired designs, while the border stood out with rich golden zari embroidery. A red base border adorned with kadua work was further elevated with delicate polki motifs, giving the entire look a queen-like aura. Nita draped the saree in an open pallu style, adding effortless elegance.
Custom Blouse by Manish Malhotra
While the saree came from Swadesh, Nita paired it with a custom blouse by designer Manish Malhotra. The blouse featured a striking polki-bordered neckline, artistic tassels, and half sleeves embellished with intricate designs.
Adding to the saree’s cultural depth, every button and tassel on the blouse bore tiny hand-painted depictions of Hindu deities — a tribute to traditional craftsmanship rarely seen in modern couture.
100-Year-Old Kundan Polki Earrings Steal the Show
True to her love for royal jewelry, Nita wore a breathtaking pair of handcrafted kundan–polki earrings that are over a century old. The long, shoulder-dusting earrings featured a rare vintage design, perfectly complementing her grand Banarasi ensemble.
She also wore the iconic Swadesh statement bird ring, crafted using the traditional jadau technique and embellished with polki diamonds and rubies, adding even more majesty to her appearance.
Mother’s Heirloom Hand Harness Added Emotional Touch
In a heartwarming gesture, Nita completed her ensemble with her mother Purnima Dalal’s heirloom haathphool, passed down through generations. This precious hand ornament symbolized not just heritage but also the emotional bond she continues to cherish.
The Ambani women are known for exchanging and re-styling family jewels, and Nita has often been seen wearing her mother’s pieces at important events — a tradition she honoured yet again.
Finishing Touch: A Perfect Blend of Grace and Tradition
Nita completed her traditional look with subtle makeup, soft brown lips, a middle-parted bun, and a striking red bindi that elevated the elegance of her face. As she entered the celebration venue, her presence left everyone mesmerized.
She also interacted personally with artisans and ensured they were introduced and honoured at the event, reflecting her commitment to preserving Indian heritage.
