India is brimming with talent, and sometimes the creativity of ordinary people can leave everyone amazed. Shalu Rawat’s mother recently proved this by handcrafting a dress for her daughter that looks exactly like one worn by Priyanka Chopra. Social media users have been showering Shalu with praise for her stunning outfit.
Handmade Priyanka Chopra-Inspired Dress
Buying designer outfits worth thousands of rupees is easy for celebrities, but ordinary families often have limited budgets. Digital creator Shalu Rawat’s mother, instead of shopping for expensive clothes, skillfully designs and sews outfits at home. She has successfully recreated looks of Bollywood stars like Ananya Panday and Deepika Padukone.
This time, she chose to replicate Priyanka Chopra’s blue gown from the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, originally designed by Jonathan Anderson for Dior. Shalu’s mother meticulously copied every detail—from the choice of fabric to the exact color tones—making it nearly impossible to spot a difference between the original and the recreated dress. She even handcrafted a matching necklace to complete the “Desi Girl” look.
Attention to Detail Sets Her Apart
Shalu’s mother used two types of fabric to mirror Priyanka’s gown, with satin on the top portion and a subtly different tone on the skirt to achieve elegance. The bow detailing on the top, the layered skirt, and the balloon design were all recreated precisely. She also crafted sparkling jewelry at home to complement the outfit, including earrings and rings, replicating Priyanka’s diamond and sapphire BVLGARI necklace.
Social Media Reactions
The video of Shalu wearing the dress has gone viral. Netizens have been generous with their praise, with comments like, “Looking even more beautiful than Priyanka,” and “After Nancy, you guys take the crown.” Many also appreciated the homemade jewelry, giving the look a perfect 10/10.
Shalu Rawat’s mother has proven that with talent, creativity, and dedication, it’s possible to achieve celebrity-level fashion right from home.
