Mastermind of Pahalgam Attack Threatens India, Claims Pakistan Will Rule the Seas in 2026

Saifullah Kasuri, also known by aliases such as Sajid Saifullah Jatt or Khalid, the mastermind of the 2025 Pahalgam terrorist attack, has once again issued venomous threats against India. Speaking to his followers, Kasuri claimed, “In 2025, we ruled the skies; in 2026, we will dominate the seas as well.”

Kasuri, a deputy chief of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has been recounting the story of the May 2025 conflict to his militants. During that operation, the Indian military conducted precise strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, killing over 100 militants, including ten members of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar’s family. Kasuri himself acknowledged the damage in public statements at the time, yet he continues to incite violence and boast of future operations.

Threats Against India

In his latest address, Kasuri described 2025 as the year Pakistan became the “Prince of the Skies” following successful air engagements with India. Now, he has raised the stakes by threatening the Indian Navy, claiming Pakistan will emerge as the “Prince of the Seas” by the end of 2026. He appears unaware of the full retaliatory capabilities of the Indian Navy in the event of aggression.

Kasuri’s statements reveal the deep connections between Pakistani terrorist groups and the country’s military. Reports indicate that Kasuri receives regular invitations from the Pakistan Army to participate in official programs, including funeral prayers for soldiers, highlighting the ongoing nexus between militants and state institutions.

Background: The Pahalgam Attack and Operation Sindur

The 2025 Pahalgam attack, for which Kasuri is a designated mastermind, saw 26 Hindu civilians brutally killed in the scenic meadows of Baisaran, Jammu and Kashmir, after being asked about their religion. Following this atrocity, India launched Operation Sindur in May 2025, targeting terrorist camps across Pakistan and PoK. Despite the heavy losses to militant groups, Kasuri continues to propagate anti-India rhetoric from various locations.

Ongoing Risk

Security analysts warn that Kasuri’s statements cannot be dismissed as mere bravado. His persistent propaganda against India, coupled with the documented links between LeT operatives and the Pakistani military, underscores the potential risk of further terrorist activity in Jammu and Kashmir or elsewhere on Indian soil. Authorities remain on high alert as intelligence agencies monitor the situation closely.
