“I Want Copper-T…”: Minor Girl Walks Into Hospital With Boyfriend, Leaves Doctor Shocked

Government hospital gynaecologist Dr. Supriya has witnessed several disturbing incidents during her years of service — but a recent case left even her stunned. She shared the shocking experience through an Instagram video, highlighting the growing challenges doctors face in public healthcare settings.

Minor Girl Arrives With Boyfriend, Asks for Copper-T

According to Dr. Supriya, a minor girl walked into a government hospital with a young man — it was unclear whether he was her boyfriend or just an acquaintance. Without hesitation, the girl directly demanded that she wanted to get a Copper-T intrauterine device inserted.

The doctor was taken aback.
The girl showed no awareness, no hesitation and seemed to believe she was making a normal adult decision.
It was painful to see a child trying to take decisions meant for adults, without any knowledge or guidance,” the doctor said in her video.

Lack of Awareness a Growing Concern

Dr. Supriya explained that many such cases reflect a disturbing trend — young girls making uninformed choices, influenced by peers or misinformation, risking their health and future.

Family Refuses to Donate Blood to Their Own Daughter-in-Law

In another heartbreaking incident, the gynaecologist recounted the case of a woman who was in critical labour pain, losing blood rapidly and urgently needing a donor.

Shockingly, her in-laws refused to donate blood, insisting that arranging blood was the hospital’s responsibility.
Despite the woman fighting for her life, the family members simply said:

“This is the hospital’s job, not ours. You arrange everything.”

The incident left the doctor deeply distressed, highlighting the lack of empathy and family support many women face during childbirth.

Elderly Couple Refused to Leave Hospital Ward

Dr. Supriya also described an incident involving an elderly couple who had been discharged but refused to leave the ward.

Their reason was heartbreaking:
They didn’t have money for the auto fare to return home. Their son, living abroad, wasn’t answering their calls.
The couple helplessly pleaded to stay until they could arrange transport.

A Mirror to Harsh Realities

The doctor’s video sheds light on the harsh social realities unfolding inside government hospitals —

  • minors seeking unsafe medical procedures,
  • families abandoning responsibility during emergencies, and
  • elderly patients left without support.

These stories underline an urgent need for awareness, responsible parenting, family accountability, and improved social support systems.
