Grow a Money Plant in Coconut Husk for a Unique Home Décor

If you’re looking for a creative twist on growing a money plant, gardening expert Rupa Sheth has shared an innovative idea using coconut husks. This method not only supports healthy plant growth but also adds a natural and stylish touch to your home décor.

Preparing the Coconut Husk
Start with a dry coconut and carefully peel off the fibrous outer husk. Gently loosen the fibers by hand so that the plant cutting can be easily placed and shaped without breaking the husk.

Selecting the Plant Cutting
Choose healthy, small cuttings of the money plant. Each cutting should have at least one node—the point from which roots will emerge. Small cuttings fit well within the husk fibers and establish roots quickly.

Placing the Cutting
Spread out the loosened husk and place the money plant cutting in the center. Ensure the lower part of the cutting is well covered by the fibers, which absorb moisture and encourage root growth.

Binding with Jute Rope
Fold the husk carefully around the cutting and tie it securely with jute rope. This gives the bundle a rustic, natural look and ensures it stays intact even when watered.

Setting Up the Jar
Take a transparent glass jar and add white or colorful stones at the bottom for stability and visual appeal. Place the coconut bundle upright in the center of the jar.

Watering and Maintenance
Add enough water so that the base of the coconut husk touches the water. The husk fibers act like a sponge, drawing water upward to keep the cutting continuously hydrated.

This coconut husk method gives your money plant a unique, modern appearance and can beautifully enhance your living room or office space.
