Nancy Tyagi, the rising fashion designer from Uttar Pradesh, is unstoppable. After winning hearts worldwide with her unique clothing designs, she has now added another feather to her cap by designing a stunning sari for Grammy-winning singer Tyla. The pictures of Tyla in Nancy’s creation have gone viral, with fashion enthusiasts unable to take their eyes off the modern yet traditional ensemble.
Nancy Tyagi, who has carved a niche by transforming her journey from replicating Bollywood celebrity looks to creating her own exclusive designs, has been making waves on the global stage. She gained international recognition when she made her red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 in a princess gown, leaving the world in awe of her style and creativity.
A Modern Twist on Tradition
For Tyla, Nancy designed a mint green sari made from sheer, semi-transparent fabric, combining the elegance of traditional Indian attire with a modern gown-like silhouette. The pre-draped pallu and fitted skirt with pleats brought out the sari’s classic charm, while intricate green and white thread embroidery, enhanced with green and silver stones, accentuated Tyla’s figure beautifully.
Adding a bold twist, Nancy incorporated a thigh-high slit and paired the outfit with a bralette-style blouse featuring a plunging neckline and spaghetti straps. The look was further elevated with a dramatic floor-length trail attached to the slit skirt and pre-draped pallu, making the ensemble theatrical yet elegant.
Styling to Perfection
Nancy paid meticulous attention to every detail. From green embellished pump heels and jewel-studded nails to bracelets, rings, and a choker necklace, every accessory complemented the look. The finishing touch was a sparkling bindi, perfectly blending a desi twist with Tyla’s modern aesthetic. Her dreadlock hairstyle and shimmery eye makeup completed the bold, glamorous look.
Sharing her experience, Nancy said, “Designing this sari for Tyla was an incredibly beautiful journey. I wanted to bring together the essence of Indian heritage and her bold style in a single silhouette. It felt like a serene fusion of two cultures, brought alive through couture and intention. Tyla’s sweetness made this process even more special—she was genuinely wonderful from start to finish. Thank you, Tyla, for trusting me.”
Nancy Tyagi’s work has once again proven that talent knows no boundaries. With her innovative designs and international collaborations, this young designer from UP continues to make a mark on the global fashion map.
