
Chinmay Suryakant Bhingarde from Ratnagiri shares how weight loss helped him control diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid issues, and other health complications. His journey from struggling with severe health problems to becoming a fitness influencer is both inspiring and educational.
Early Struggles with Thyroid and Weight
Chinmay developed thyroid issues while in school, following a family history—his mother also had thyroid problems. Although he was healthy as a child, his weight gradually increased due to unhealthy eating habits, including regular consumption of fried snacks like vada pav and samosas. By the time he finished school, he managed his thyroid with medication, but after class 12, his health began to deteriorate, causing him to miss a year of studies.
Pain and Diagnosis
Post-exams, Chinmay noticed lumps forming under his arms, causing extreme pain that even made wearing shirts difficult. Initial consultations labeled them as benign, but the pain persisted. Further testing revealed liver dysfunction, borderline diabetes, and high cholesterol. Combined with his existing thyroid condition, his weight had reached 98kg.
Choosing Weight Loss
On his family doctor’s advice, Chinmay decided to take charge of his health through weight loss. He overhauled his lifestyle: cutting out outside food, eating only home-cooked meals, drinking 3–4 liters of water daily, and committing to regular workouts.
Transformative Results
Within three months, the underarm lumps disappeared, and his thyroid, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels came under control, allowing him to stop all medications. Over 11 months, he lost 30kg, dramatically transforming his body. Friends and family were amazed at the visible changes.
From Fitness Journey to Influencer
As a cinematographer, Chinmay started sharing his fitness journey on social media in his free time. His videos quickly gained popularity, earning him a large following and turning him into a recognized fitness influencer.
