Exclusive Weight Loss Journey: “People Said Who Will Marry Me, I Lost 54kg and Married My Dream Partner”

Sangeetha Thevar faced relentless criticism after her weight soared to 115 kg. Undeterred, she underwent surgery, lost an incredible 54 kg, became a sports model, married her dream partner, and is now a proud mother of twins. Her journey has inspired thousands of women across the country.

Childhood Habits and Early Struggles

“I was always overweight, but my addiction to junk food worsened my health,” Sangeetha recalls. Her weight made participation in sports and physical activities difficult, although she excelled academically. During college, she attempted gyms multiple times but often gave up after a month or two.

Life Challenges and Weight Gain

During her second year of B.Com, Sangeetha faced the tragic loss of her father due to a heart attack. Managing studies alongside supporting her mother and sisters, she took a job with rotational shifts. Poor sleep and late-night junk food intake contributed to rapid weight gain.

The Tipping Point: Injury During Trekking

While on a trekking trip with colleagues, Sangeetha struggled physically and eventually fractured her leg. She required immediate surgery and was bedridden for over a month, during which her weight climbed to 115 kg.

Facing Social Pressure

“The pigmentation on my face worsened due to obesity, and people started body-shaming me. Comments like ‘Who will marry you?’ were common. It hurt, but I decided to lose weight and prove them wrong,” Sangeetha shares.

The Transformation Journey

Post-surgery, Sangeetha began her weight-loss journey with walking and a healthy diet. She adopted proper sleep patterns, increased her water intake to 3–4 liters daily, and joined a fitness club under the guidance of a professional coach. With the right lifestyle, diet, and workout regime, her weight began to drop significantly.

Life After Weight Loss

Through relentless effort and coaching from Venkatesh Udayyar, Sangeetha lost 54 kg. She won the “Best Transformation of the Year” award and became a part-time fitness coach herself. Her journey not only transformed her body but also her life.

Achieving Dreams and Inspiring Others

After her transformation, Sangeetha married her dream partner and is now a mother of twins. Her confidence soared, and she continues to motivate countless women to embrace fitness and self-belief. “If you are determined, nothing is impossible,” she affirms.
