Ingredients for Crispy Cheese Patty Sandwich
- ½ cup poha (flattened rice)
- 3 boiled potatoes
- Green peas
- Corn
- 3–4 finely chopped green chilies
- Chopped onions
- 1 tsp oregano
- Salt to taste
- 1 packet bread
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
- Oil for frying
Preparation Steps
- Rinse ½ cup poha for 1–1.5 minutes and drain. This keeps it soft, a secret tip from Bharat’s Kitchen for making cutlets or rolls.
- Boil peas, corn, and potatoes.
Making the Filling
- In a large bowl, mash the boiled potatoes and mix in the cooked peas, corn, and soaked poha.
- Add 3 cubes of cheese, chopped green chilies, onions, oregano, and salt.
- Mash and mix all ingredients well to prepare the filling.
Preparing the Bread
- Trim the four corners of fresh bread slices.
- Grind leftover bread into coarse crumbs and roast them on low heat until crisp.
Shaping the Sandwich
- Prepare a “edible glue” using 1 cup flour mixed with water, ensuring no lumps.
- Roll the bread thin, spread the glue around the edges, place the filling in the center, and fold into a triangle.
Frying the Patties
- Coat the sandwiches first in thin glue mixture, then in roasted bread crumbs.
- Fry on medium heat until golden and crispy.
