‘Border 2’ Actress Ishika Gagneja Reveals the Benefits of Home-Cooked Food by Mom

Actress Ishika Gagneja, known for her role as Sukhminder’s sister in Border 2, has opened up about her fitness and skincare secrets, emphasizing the benefits of home-cooked meals over junk food.

Fitness and Healthy Eating

Ishika admits that while she enjoys street food, she avoids it to maintain clear skin and overall health. She believes that home-cooked meals are the safest and most effective way to stay fit. Her mother plays a key role in managing her diet, ensuring that every meal is tailored to her nutritional needs.

“I feel lucky to have a body type that suits me, but staying fit requires effort,” says Ishika. “I love going to the gym and running, and I’ve been consistent for the past four years. After Border 2, I want to take on bigger projects, which makes focusing on my fitness essential.”

Marathon Training

Ishika is preparing to run in a marathon. “Running has become part of my routine. It gives me energy and confidence, and I feel I’m taking active steps toward achieving my marathon goal. I hope to participate this year,” she shares.

Home-Cooked Meals for Health

Ishika emphasizes that home-cooked food helps with portion control, calorie management, and diet customization based on body type. “I rely entirely on my mother for my diet. She knows what’s best for me and prepares everything accordingly. In our Punjabi household, meals can be heavy, but my mom makes sure my food is healthy,” she explains.

Her mother even prepares special items like homemade peanut butter, ensuring Ishika enjoys her favorite foods without compromising health. According to Ishika, “The best way to maintain a healthy diet is by eating meals made with love by mom. She knows exactly what’s right for me.”

Why She Avoids Junk Food

Though Ishika loved street food during her college days—vada pav, dabeli, dosa, sev puri, and bhel puri—she now follows a strict diet. “Junk food affects the skin, so I prefer a healthy diet. My breakfast usually includes eggs; lunch is home-cooked vegetables, roti, chicken or paneer, and salad; dinner is dal, roti, rice, chicken, and salad,” she says.

For Ishika Gagneja, the secret to glowing skin and staying fit lies in a disciplined lifestyle complemented by the wholesome goodness of home-cooked food.
