Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry, is packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants and offers a natural way to support overall health. From modern science to Ayurveda, this superfruit is celebrated for its nutritional value and therapeutic benefits. It can help maintain healthy liver, heart, digestive system, hair, and skin. However, the method of consumption plays a crucial role in addressing specific health issues.

Expert Advice on Amla Consumption
Ayurvedic expert Dr. Mihir Khatri explains that amla can be used differently for various health conditions. Depending on your concern, amla can aid in fatty liver, high cholesterol, diabetes, constipation, hair fall, white discharge, and chronic cough.

1. Fatty Liver
Fatty liver has become increasingly common today. Dr. Khatri recommends:

  • 10 ml amla juice
  • 10 ml aloe vera juice
  • 20 ml water
Mix and consume daily for effective results.

2. Cholesterol
High cholesterol is a major cause of heart attacks. To reduce cholesterol:

  • 10 ml amla juice
  • 10 ml ginger juice
  • 15 ml water
    Mix and drink regularly.

3. White Discharge & Hair Fall

  • For white discharge: Mix 5 grams amla powder with 1 teaspoon honey and consume with rice water.
  • To prevent hair fall: Take 20 ml amla juice with 5 grams of rock sugar or 1 teaspoon amla powder with 1 teaspoon desi ghee and rock sugar.

4. Chronic Cough & Immunity Boost

  • For recurring coughs and frequent illnesses, boost immunity by consuming amla powder or juice with honey.
  • For diabetics: Mix amla juice with fresh turmeric juice for better blood sugar management.

5. Constipation
Constipation is common due to low fiber intake and lack of physical activity. To ease it:

  • Drink plain amla juice on an empty stomach in the morning.

Amla’s versatility makes it a powerful, natural ally for many health concerns. However, before trying any home remedy, it is always advisable to consult a healthcare expert.
