Kannada actor Mayur Patel has suddenly grabbed headlines after being arrested by Bengaluru police on the morning of Thursday, 29 January 2026. Fans on social media have been abuzz with questions about the incident.
According to reports, Patel was taken into custody by the Hoysala Police Station in connection with a drink-and-drive case. His vehicle was also impounded following the arrest.
The Incident
As per Times Now, Mayur Patel was reportedly driving his Fortune SUV at high speed under the influence of alcohol when he collided with a parked car in Domlur, near the Commando Hospital area in Bengaluru. The impact caused a chain-reaction collision involving several vehicles behind, including a government car. Two car owners, Srinivas and Abhishek, immediately informed the police control room, prompting Hoysala Police officials to detain Patel and conduct a medical test.
The medical examination confirmed that Patel was under the influence of alcohol at the time of driving. Police also found that the actor’s vehicle did not have valid insurance during the accident.

Mayur Patel is a well-known Kannada film actor and filmmaker who began his acting career in the early 2000s. He gained popularity with the 2003 film Mani. Over the years, he has appeared in several successful films, including the romantic drama Love Story (2005), action-drama Gunna (2005), crime film Slum (2013), and Munia (2009). His performances have been widely appreciated.
In recent years, Patel appeared in the 2020 film Rajeeva, where he played a double role, and the 2024 release Pepe. Apart from films, he has also been seen on television, including Bigg Boss Kannada Season 2.
The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the responsibility of public figures while driving under the influence.
