The eighth episode of Colors TV’s popular supernatural series Naagin 7 has left viewers frustrated, sparking criticism over the excessive use of AI and VFX in the show. Fans have voiced their disappointment and urged producer Ekta Kapoor and the creative team to maintain realism in the series.
The episode featured Priyanka Chahar Choudhary in her iconic role as Ananta, the queen of Anantkul. While audiences enjoyed seeing her in her Naagin avatar, certain scenes—including a dragon fight sequence—were deemed over-the-top due to heavy AI effects. The episode begins with Alis Kaushik’s character praying in a temple about Priyanka’s character. In a dramatic twist, Priyanka emerges from the ground during heavy rain in her Naagin form, leading to a digitally enhanced fight with a dragon.
Fans expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, criticizing the overuse of AI and VFX. One viewer wrote, “I had high hopes for the writers of Naagin 7, but this was disappointing. The dragon fight lasted only two minutes, the villain looked cartoonish, and Priyanka’s Naagin scene was too short. The actors are working hard, but the AI ruined the impact.”
Another user commented, “Why is Ekta Kapoor’s creative team spoiling Naagin 7? The dragon and Naagin fight scene was ridiculous. We watch the show only for the main leads, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Namik Paul. The story is interesting, but the VFX and screenplay are lacking.”
While some appreciated the effort, viewers still called for moderation in the use of technology. “The episode was good, but excessive AI reduced its impact. The Naagin and dragon battle felt fake, and the main villain was defeated too quickly. It seems like the story is being rushed,” another fan noted.
Fans also directly appealed to Ekta Kapoor, suggesting a more restrained approach: “You’ve done a great job keeping Naagin 7’s TRP intact. Just one advice—limit the VFX in snake transformations. Please avoid using AI for Naagin-related effects; it doesn’t look good.”
Despite the criticism, Naagin 7 continues to engage audiences, highlighting the challenge of balancing cutting-edge visual effects with narrative authenticity in supernatural drama series.
