The news of her demise was confirmed by her family through a post shared on her official Instagram account. The statement read that her last rites were performed in Mumbai on the same day at the Hindu crematorium in Chakala, Andheri West.

According to reports, Praveena had been undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma for several years. She had also undergone chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. In a 2024 interview, the actress had spoken about the painful symptoms and challenges she faced, including severe skin rashes and intense back pain, which led her to begin extensive treatment.
She had also shared how her family stood by her throughout her difficult journey, offering emotional strength during her recovery, especially during the isolation period following her transplant.

Her filmography includes notable projects like “Bombay Talkies,” “D-Day,” “Monsoon Shootout,” “Ek Villain,” “Gabbar Is Back,” “Aligarh,” and “Blackmail.” She also played a memorable role as Manoj Bajpayee’s mother in the upcoming season of “The Family Man 3.”
