‘The Raja Saab’ OTT Release: Prabhas’ Film Coming to Streaming Soon—No Need to Wait

Prabhas, the superstar of Baahubali fame, faced a major setback with his recent release The Raja Saab. The horror-comedy failed to impress both critics and audiences, leading to a sharp decline in box office collections just days after release. Made on a budget of ₹300 crore, the film earned only ₹139.01 crore domestically in 10 days, despite collecting ₹108 crore including paid previews during its opening weekend.

OTT Plans Announced
To recover from its theatrical losses, the makers have decided to release the film on OTT soon. Directed by Maruti, The Raja Saab features Prabhas alongside Sanjay Dutt, Nidhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab. The film released in theaters on 9 January 2026, and its digital streaming partner has been confirmed as JioHotstar. Social media reports suggest the film could hit OTT platforms by the last week of February (27 February 2026) or the first week of March (6 March 2026), though no official announcement has been made yet.

Storyline
The story follows Raju, aka Raja Saab (Prabhas), who lives in a village with his grandmother, Ganga Maa (Zarina Wahab). She often reminisces about her husband, Kankaraju (Sanjay Dutt), who went missing while searching for a thief. One day, Raju learns that his grandfather is in Hyderabad. Upon arriving, he discovers a terrifying truth: his grandmother is a princess of the Devnagar Empire.

To solve the mysteries surrounding his grandparents, Raju ventures into his ancestral haunted mansion in a dense forest. The twist comes when Raju encounters his grandfather, who has turned into a ghost. How the battle between grandfather and grandson unfolds—and who ultimately triumphs—forms the core of the film.

OTT Release Date
Sources claim the OTT premiere could be scheduled for 27 February 2026 or 6 March 2026, giving fans a chance to watch the film from home without long waits. Official confirmation from the makers or JioHotstar is still awaited.
