
Following the massive success of ‘The Kerala Story’ in 2023, which ran in theatres for over 40 days and earned ₹241.74 crore net in India and ₹302 crore worldwide, its sequel ‘The Kerala Story 2’ is all set for release on 27 February 2026. The film’s shooting, produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, has been completed under tight security.
The original film had made waves at the box office and received national acclaim, winning National Awards for Best Direction and Best Cinematography. The sequel, set in Kerala, promises a deeper and more intense storyline, though the details of its cast and director are being kept under wraps.
According to an industry source, the production team ensured that no information leaked during filming, prohibiting cast and crew from using phones on set. The filming was conducted in a highly controlled environment, with the producer taking extra measures to avoid disruptions.
Fans of the original film are eagerly awaiting the sequel, as ‘The Kerala Story’ had already made a strong impact, earning over ₹8 crore on its opening day and surpassing ₹100 crore before the end of its second weekend.
With anticipation building for ‘The Kerala Story 2’, Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s next venture is expected to replicate, if not surpass, the success of the first installment.
