‘The Kerala Story 2’ Cast: Meet the Three Actresses Portraying the Victims, One Faced Taunts for Her Skin Tone

Mumbai: Director Sudipto Sen’s and producer Vipul Shah’s upcoming film ‘The Kerala Story 2’ is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026. Ahead of its release, fans are curious about the three lead actresses featured in the teaser, who play the victims in this sequel.

The first film, ‘The Kerala Story’, released on May 5, 2023, revolved around four girls from different religious backgrounds who were converted to Islam and joined an Islamic State group. The film was based on true events highlighting alleged cases of ‘love jihad’. It starred Ada Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani and was a commercial success, earning ₹302 crore worldwide on a budget of ₹15 crore.

Now, in ‘The Kerala Story 2’, the story continues, focusing on three girls. Here’s a closer look at the actresses portraying them:

Ulka Gupta

In the film, she plays Surekha Nair. Born on April 12, 1997, in Saharsa, Bihar, Ulka was raised in Mumbai. She started her acting career with TV shows like ‘Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar’ and gained popularity with ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’. Her film credits include Telugu movies like ‘Andhra Pori’ and ‘Rudramadevi’, Hindi films such as ‘Traffic’, ‘Simba’, ‘Mr. Kabadi’, Bengali film ‘Shrestha Bangali’, and Marathi film ‘Odh’.

Ulka has been active on Instagram with 506k followers. She has faced taunts for her skin tone and slim frame, with people doubting her chances in the industry.

Aditi Bhatia

She portrays Divya Paliwal in the sequel. Born on October 29, 1999, Aditi first appeared as a child actor in films like ‘Vivah’, ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, ‘The Train’, ‘Chance Pe Dance’, and ‘Sargoshiyan’. She gained recognition on TV with Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ as Ruhi. She has also appeared in GTV shows like ‘Tashan-e-Ishq’, ‘Comedy Nights Bachao Taza’, ‘Comedy Circus’, and ‘Khatra Khatra Khatra’.

Her Instagram following stands at 6.4 million, making her one of the most popular faces of the sequel.

Aishwarya Ojha

Playing Neha Sant, Aishwarya has worked in web series and films such as ‘Ramyug’, ‘Half CA’, ‘Ramyug 2’, ‘Happy Family, Conditions Apply’, and ‘Echo’. She is less widely known but has 15.3k followers on Instagram.

Box Office Performance of ‘The Kerala Story’

The first film was made on a budget of ₹15 crore. It earned ₹8.03 crore on opening day, and its revenue increased over the following weeks. The film grossed ₹241.74 crore net in India and ₹302 crore worldwide, with overseas collections of ₹15.5 crore.
