Breaking the usual star kid tradition of stepping in front of the camera, Thalapathy Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay is set to enter the film industry as a director, following the footsteps of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut. His first film, ‘Sigma’, promises to be an action-adventure comedy and is slated for a 2026 theatrical release.
Film Overview
‘Sigma’ is described as a high-octane entertainer blending humor, adventure, and action. The story revolves around a lone wolf hero who challenges societal norms while embarking on a thrilling quest for hidden treasure, intertwined with robbery and criminal conspiracies. Notably, Jason Sanjay has written the script himself. The movie is produced under the renowned Tamil banner Lyca Productions, with Thaman S composing the music.
Cast and Crew
The film features Sandeep Kishan in the lead role, supported by Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Ambu Thasan, Yog Japi, Sampath Raj, Kiran Konda, and Magalaxmi Sudarshan, along with several cameo appearances. Fans also anticipate a possible cameo from Thalapathy Vijay himself. Initially, Dulquer Salmaan was considered for the lead role, but scheduling conflicts prevented his participation.
Jason’s Background
Though he had appeared as a child artist in Vijay’s 2009 hit ‘Vettaikaran’, Jason has stayed away from acting in adulthood. Recently, he was spotted at the airport, heightening fan excitement. His debut as a director has generated curiosity, as he brings fresh creative energy to Tamil cinema.
Father’s Upcoming Project
While Jason steps behind the camera, Thalapathy Vijay is focusing more on politics and career beyond acting. His upcoming film ‘Jan Nayakan’, directed by H. Vinod, is scheduled for release on 9 January 2026, starring Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde. Reports suggest this might be Vijay’s final film as an actor.
This piece can be published directly in a newspaper as a feature story, highlighting the rise of the next-generation filmmaker in Tamil cinema.
