Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ has suffered a significant dip at the box office on its eighth day, directly impacted by the blockbuster opening of Ranveer Singh’s spy-action drama ‘Dhurandhar’.
Box Office Performance
Initially strong with Hindi audiences, the romantic drama earned ₹5.8 crore on Thursday, but collections dropped to ₹3.75 crore on Friday, marking a -35.34% decline. Seat occupancy across theaters was 18.44% on the eighth day.
The domestic total now stands at ₹87.40 crore (Hindi: ₹83.25 crore; Tamil: ₹4.15 crore), while worldwide gross has reached ₹118 crore, including ₹14.25 crore from overseas.
100-Crore Club Hopes
With just ₹12.6 crore needed to enter the 100-crore club domestically, the film still has a chance over the weekend, though the competition from ‘Dhurandhar’ could make it challenging.
Critical Reception
Despite mixed reviews, the lead pair’s chemistry and positive word-of-mouth helped maintain weekday footfalls. The real test begins from Monday as the weekday audience may be divided between the two films.
Outlook
While ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ is safe from being labeled a flop, its performance this weekend will determine if it can withstand the ‘Dhurandhar’ storm and achieve its domestic 100-crore milestone.
