Tension on “Alpha” Set: Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol Clash During Shoot, Aditya Chopra Steps In

While the release date for YRF Spy Universe’s “Alpha” remains under wraps, reports from the film’s set indicate a clash between Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol during shooting, requiring producer Aditya Chopra to intervene and mediate.

Creative Differences Spark On-Set Tension

According to a report by 123 Telugu, the disagreement arose over a scene in which Alia Bhatt offered creative suggestions. Bobby Deol reportedly did not agree with her input, leading to a heated exchange that created tension on set. To ensure smooth shooting, Aditya Chopra stepped in and mediated between the actors, calming the situation.

Cast and Delayed Release

“Alpha” also stars Sharvari Wagh and was initially scheduled for a Christmas 2025 release but was postponed due to pending VFX work. The official spokesperson from Yash Raj Films recently announced that the movie is now slated for April 17, 2026, with a trilingual release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Shiv Ravale is directing the film.

OTT Release Discussions

New reports suggest that “Alpha” may bypass theaters and release directly on OTT platforms. However, Alia Bhatt is reportedly against this decision. A source speaking to Deccan Chronicle revealed that producer Aditya Chopra initially aimed to promote female-oriented action films like “Mardaani,” but the results did not meet expectations. Additionally, the performance of “War 2” was underwhelming, prompting caution before a theatrical release. No official statement regarding the OTT release has been made yet.

Upcoming Projects: Alia Bhatt

“Alpha” marks Alia Bhatt’s first project in the YRF Spy Universe, featuring her in high-octane action sequences as part of a female-led action entertainer. This year, Alia has two major films lined up: another project with Aditya Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Love and War”, where she will share screen space with Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor.

Upcoming Projects: Bobby Deol

Bobby Deol will play a villain in “Jan Nayakan” alongside Thalapathy Vijay, and he will also appear in Anurag Kashyap’s “Bandar” in a pivotal role. Other upcoming projects include “Shlok: The Desi Sherlock”, where he portrays a detective, and a return in “Aashram 4”.
