Actress Taapsee Pannu has expressed her willingness to build a friendly rapport with Kangana Ranaut, stating that she holds no grudges or resentment against her senior. In a recent interview, Taapsee clarified that she has never fought with Kangana nor made any negative remarks about her.
Clearing the Air
Taapsee emphasized that any past misunderstandings were blown out of proportion. She said on Shubankar Mishra’s podcast, “I don’t recall ever having a fight. A fight happens when two people clash, and I have never clashed. If you check, I’ve never said a single word against her.”
She also addressed the infamous “cheap copy” comment made by Kangana’s sister Rangoli, who had referred to Taapsee as a “cheap copy” because she supposedly earned less. Taapsee responded gracefully, saying, “If she is such a fantastic actress, I have no objection to being called her copy. I’ve never said anything against them.”
On Past Controversies
When asked if the past clash between Kangana and herself benefited any star kids, Taapsee replied thoughtfully, “I don’t know about them, but someone must have gained in some way. From my side, there was never any fight. Perhaps some people didn’t want us to work together, fearing that if we did, the results could have been extraordinary.”
Friendship on the Horizon
Taapsee made it clear that she is open to mending bridges: “Absolutely, I am ready to be friends with her. I’ve always said that if I ever see her around, I will definitely meet her. She is my senior. I will go and greet her with respect. I cannot guarantee how she will react, but I can guarantee my behavior. Honestly, I have nothing against her.”
How the Dispute Started
The rift between Taapsee and Kangana dates back to the promotion of Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Manmarziyaan’. During an interview, Taapsee was asked which product she would recommend to Kangana, and she replied “double filter,” which angered Kangana and her sister Rangoli. The matter escalated on social media when Rangoli called Taapsee a “cheap copy” on X (formerly Twitter), and Kangana later labeled Taapsee and Swara Bhaskar as “B-grade actors” in a media interview. Taapsee’s recent statements indicate that she is ready to leave the past behind and extend a hand of friendship.
