Actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have faced immense personal heartbreak, having lost a child in the past. In a recent interview, Sunita revealed the tragic circumstances surrounding the death of their three-month-old daughter.
Speaking candidly on Usha Kakade’s YouTube channel, Sunita shared, “When our second daughter was born prematurely, she was in my arms for three months, but her lungs were not fully developed. One night, she could no longer breathe properly and passed away in my arms. It was the most difficult time of my life. Today, I could have had two daughters and a son.”
The Struggle of a Premature Birth
Sunita recounted the complications of her pregnancy in a past interview with Howtofly. She explained that the baby was born at eight months due to the extensive travel she had with Govinda, saying, “I had no idea the baby’s weight would be so low. My first delivery had gone smoothly, so I assumed the second would be the same.”
Challenges During Son Yashvardhan’s Birth
Following this tragedy, Sunita and Govinda welcomed their son, Yashvardhan. Sunita reflected on the difficulties she faced during his birth, saying, “At the time, I weighed 100 kilograms. I felt like I could die. Seeing me in that condition made Govinda cry.”
Govinda’s Desire for a Son
Sunita also revealed the pressure surrounding the gender of their child. “Back then, gender determination tests were legal. We knew we were having a son. I told the doctor, ‘Sir, my husband wants a son. Please save the baby. Even if I die in the process, it’s okay.’”
Sunita’s candid recollection highlights the emotional and physical struggles she endured, as well as the pressures surrounding societal expectations in their family.
