Mumbai – Sunil Lahri, widely remembered as Laxman from Ramanand Sagar’s iconic Ramayan, recently shared a touching story involving Bollywood legend Dharmendra and his wife, Prakash Kaur. The revelation came as part of a special video tribute to the actor on the occasion of his 90th birthday on December 8.
Lahri, who maintains an active presence on social media, spoke candidly about a personal experience linked to his home purchase. He revealed that years ago, he had acquired a modest apartment with Dharmendra’s blessing and had signed the agreement with Prakash Kaur. “I had no prior recognition or acquaintance with them, yet I was fortunate enough to meet them and receive their blessings,” Lahri said.
The actor recounted, “I negotiated the deal with Sunny Deol, finalized it with Dharmendra, and signed the agreement with Mrs. Dharmendra herself, Prakash Kaur. I even had the pleasure of meeting the entire family. They were extremely humble, down-to-earth, and cultured.”
Lahri also shared a warm interaction with Dharmendra during the process. “When I went with Dharmendra to finalize the apartment, he asked who would live there. I told him it would be me. He blessed me for success, offered sweets, and, despite not knowing who I was, he embraced me warmly after I explained my work. May God bless his soul and grant him eternal peace. I pray he continues to remain happy wherever he is.”
Interestingly, while Lahri celebrated this personal milestone connected to Dharmendra, he has remained silent on other family events, such as the wedding of his son, Krish Pathak, to actress Sara Khan on December 5, which he did not attend.
Through his tribute, Lahri not only honored the legendary actor’s milestone but also shared a rare glimpse into the personal kindness and humility of one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated families.
