Suniel Shetty Has Yet to Watch ‘Border 2’, Waits for Box Office Milestone for Son Ahan

Mumbai: Bollywood star Suniel Shetty has revealed that he has not yet watched his son Ahan Shetty’s latest film, Border 2. In a heartfelt gesture, the actor disclosed that he sat outside the theater for three and a half hours during the film’s premiere, waiting for the audience’s reactions while his family enjoyed the screening inside. Suniel Shetty has made a personal vow to watch the film only after it crosses the ₹500 crore mark at the box office.

A Father’s Promise
Suniel Shetty shared in an interview with Mid Day that his wife, Mana Shetty, daughter Athiya Shetty, and son-in-law KL Rahul watched the premiere with Ahan, while he remained outside, meeting fans and listening to their praise. “From day one, I decided that I would not watch Border 2 until it earns ₹500 crore worldwide. I made a vow for Ahan,” he said. The actor emphasized that his decision is not about pride but about keeping his promise to his son.

Confident About Success
When asked what would happen if the film falls short of the ₹500 crore target, Suniel expressed confidence: “I believe my prayers will be answered. Mana loved the film, and everyone who watched it appreciated Ahan’s performance. After my own journey, it feels wonderful to see another Hindi film making such a strong impact.”

Watching the Film Together
Suniel also revealed how he plans to watch Border 2: “I will watch it with Ahan, his friends, and our family. I might take Sunny, Varun, and others too. It will be my first viewing, and I don’t know how many times I will watch it after that. I have always been proud of Ahan and his decisions. He knew exactly what he wanted with this film.”

Box Office Figures
Border 2, starring Ahan Shetty along with Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana, is directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar. The film has already earned ₹295.10 crore worldwide in six days, meaning it still needs approximately ₹206 crore to reach the milestone that will allow Suniel Shetty to finally see his son’s work on the big screen.
