Excitement is building across India and beyond as SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated film ‘SSMB29’ gears up for its official title reveal. The upcoming blockbuster stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles and is already creating a buzz even before its release.
According to reports, the film is slated for a 25 March 2027 theatrical release, more than a year and a half from now. While this date has been widely circulated, the makers have not yet officially confirmed it.

Initially, the makers considered releasing SSMB29 in two parts, but the plan was later revised, and the film will now be presented as a single cinematic experience. Shooting is scheduled to begin in 2026, with the aim of completing production for the 2027 release.
Lead Cast and Roles
Mahesh Babu reportedly portrays a character inspired by Indiana Jones, following the global success of Rajamouli’s RRR. Priyanka Chopra returns to Indian cinema after her critically acclaimed 2019 romantic drama The Sky Is Pink, taking on a pivotal role alongside Mahesh Babu.
Budget and Scale
The film’s budget is estimated at $135 million (₹1,188 crore), making it one of the largest productions in Asian cinema history. The official title will be unveiled on 15 November 2025 at a high-profile Globetrotting event in Hyderabad, which will also be streamed live in India on JioHotstar.
With Rajamouli at the helm, SSMB29 promises grand visuals, high-octane action, and a cinematic spectacle that fans across India and the world are eagerly waiting for.
