
South Indian actress Anju Krishna, along with seven others including director Vinci Nivetha, has been arrested in a major drug-related case, police confirmed. Authorities say the arrests were made in a highly organized operation, resembling a cinematic setup.
Police Action and Arrests
The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) South conducted the operation, seizing methamphetamine and cannabis from the accused. The incident occurred in Valsarvakkam on Thursday. According to reports, Inspector Johnny Chellappa and his team first apprehended 33-year-old Vigneshwaran from Nesapakkam. Interrogation revealed that the drugs had come from 31-year-old Venkatesh Kumar, who resides in Porur near Kovur.
To catch Venkatesh, police devised a sting operation using an undercover buyer. As the suspect’s car reached a specific location in Valsarvakkam, police stopped and searched the vehicle, arresting him along with others present.
Seized Items
During the operation, authorities recovered 6 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of OG cannabis, 15 grams of regular cannabis, a smoking bong, a stamp, and nine mobile phones. All seized items and arrested individuals were handed over to Valsarvakkam Police and later produced before a magistrate, who sent them to judicial custody. The suspects will remain in custody as investigations continue.

Anju Krishna is known for her work in South cinema, including the Tamil film Vellimalai, directed by Om Vijay, and several Malayalam films such as Aaro and Akasham Kadanna.
The police investigation into the drug network remains ongoing.
