Reality TV star Sidharth Bhardwaj, best known for his appearances in Splitsvilla 2, Bigg Boss 5, and Roadies, is all set to return to television after a long break with the upcoming reality show The 50. In a recent interview, Sidharth opened up about the reasons behind his absence from reality television and what convinced him to say yes to this new format.
Speaking to news agency IANS, Sidharth said the unique and unpredictable format of The 50 was the primary reason he agreed to participate. He explained that the show’s concept is unlike anything previously seen on Indian television and thrives on chaos, strategy, and constantly shifting dynamics. According to him, such challenging environments excite him and push him to perform better.
Sidharth noted that The 50 carries an atmosphere similar to Bigg Boss and Splitsvilla, where alliances, mind games, and strategic thinking play a crucial role. Having experienced the original and most authentic phases of major reality shows, he believes those early learnings have shaped his approach today. He emphasized that staying calm under pressure, thinking clearly, and avoiding impulsive reactions are lessons he has carried forward from his earlier reality TV journey.
Reflecting on his past, Sidharth admitted that he made mistakes during his early reality show days, but those experiences helped him mature both personally and professionally. He said he consciously stepped away from reality television after Bigg Boss 5, as no show offered the scale or challenge that matched his previous experiences. While he did appear on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, he largely focused on acting in films and web series, aiming to avoid being typecast solely as a reality show contestant.
Sidharth also addressed the rise of meme culture, where clips from old reality shows frequently resurface online. Referring to the recent viral recreation of a Bigg Boss 5 fight scene by actress Janhvi Kapoor, he said such trends do not affect him. He prefers to look ahead rather than dwell on the past, maintaining a professional mindset and focusing on new opportunities.
With The 50, Sidharth Bhardwaj hopes to reconnect with audiences in a fresh avatar, combining experience, strategy, and maturity. His return has already generated buzz, as fans look forward to seeing how one of reality TV’s early stars navigates a new-age competitive format.
