Akshaye Khanna’s dance performance in the film Dhurandhar has taken social media by storm, with fans creating numerous reels celebrating his iconic moves. However, former Bigg Boss 19 contestant Shehbaz recently attempted to replicate Khanna’s performance, sparking widespread criticism online.
Shehbaz shared a video of himself dancing to the same song, captioning it, “This is how Oscars happen.” In the clip, he can be seen struggling with the choreography, causing both amusement and frustration among viewers. Social media users were quick to react, with some mocking the attempt and others criticizing him sharply, saying things like, “Stay in your lane” and “Go away if you’re copying others.”
Akshaye Khanna’s dance, particularly his performance as the character Rahman, has garnered immense praise. Even filmmaker Farah Khan lauded the actor on social media, suggesting that he deserves an Oscar for the role. Fans suspect Shehbaz’s video was intended as a humorous imitation, which contributed to the backlash.
Interestingly, the buzz around Akshaye’s dance also resurfaced an old video of his late father, Vinod Khanna, dancing, with many noting similarities between the two performances. Notably, Akshaye himself choreographed the steps on set, adding authenticity to his viral moves.
With both admiration for Khanna’s performance and critical reactions to imitation videos, social media continues to be abuzz with discussions around Dhurandhar’s iconic dance sequences.
