Bollywood veteran Shatrughan Sinha recently responded to Jaya Bachchan’s critical remarks about paparazzi, turning the spotlight on himself and drawing applause and laughter from audiences. While Jaya had criticized paparazzi harshly, questioning their education, background, and dressing sense, Sinha offered a contrasting perspective that amused those present.
At a recent event in Mumbai, Shatrughan Sinha said in a video clip, “You people wear good pants and good shirts. You all are very good.” His humorous and light-hearted comment drew laughter from attendees, including Poonam Dhillon, and applause echoed through the venue.
Jaya Bachchan’s Remarks
Earlier, at a separate event, Jaya Bachchan had expressed her disapproval of paparazzi, stating, “These people outside wearing tight clothes and holding mobile phones think that just because they have a phone, they can take your pictures. Who are these people? Where do they come from? What kind of education do they have? What is their background?”
Old Rivalries Resurface
Interestingly, Shatrughan Sinha’s comments also revive memories of his long-standing, yet sometimes strained, relationship with Amitabh Bachchan. Once celebrated as one of Bollywood’s iconic duos in the 1970s, the two actors reportedly stopped working together due to misunderstandings, including personal disagreements and professional competition. Sinha has detailed these episodes in his biography, Anything But Khamosh, mentioning that tensions even arose over a certain actress and personal matters like wedding invitations.
Shatrughan Sinha’s witty retort and support for the paparazzi have once again put him in the spotlight, demonstrating his trademark humor and candidness in public interactions.
