During an appearance on a relationship advice show, Shanaya recounted the moment she discovered the deception. While on a holiday abroad with her then-boyfriend, he asked her to book a cab for dinner using his phone. When she unlocked his phone, a notification appeared that made her suspicious. “I knew the name of one of his exes, and it didn’t feel right. That’s when I realized something was off,” she said.

Shanaya went on to describe how she found messages from not just one, but five different women. Shocked, she immediately took screenshots and sent them to her friends for advice. One friend, Ananya, suggested that she take a train and leave, but Shanaya stayed, trying to maintain composure throughout dinner.
