Shah Rukh Khan Set to Return in ‘Don 3’; Stars Lay Down Condition for Farhan Akhtar

Bollywood fans have reason to celebrate as reports suggest Shah Rukh Khan may reprise his iconic role in Don 3. Following Ranveer Singh’s exit from the film, director Farhan Akhtar has reportedly approached the “King Khan” once again. However, Shah Rukh has reportedly set a condition for his comeback.

Farhan Akhtar had announced Don 3 in August 2023, casting Ranveer Singh in the lead and releasing a teaser. Since then, the project has faced multiple delays. Actress Kiara Advani dropped out due to pregnancy, and recently Ranveer Singh stepped away from the project, reportedly to prioritize other ventures after the blockbuster success of Dhurandhar. Fans of Shah Rukh Khan were initially disappointed when Ranveer was cast, but with his exit, negotiations with Shah Rukh have resurfaced.

Shah Rukh Khan first rose to fame in the Don franchise with the 2006 remake directed by Farhan Akhtar, following the original 1978 blockbuster starring Amitabh Bachchan. He reprised his role in Don 2 (2011), and now, if all goes well, he may return for Don 3.

According to a new report by TeleChakkar, Shah Rukh Khan has set a key condition: he will only join the film if director Atlee Kumar, known for his blockbuster Jawan, is brought on board to direct. The Shah Rukh-Atlee collaboration in Jawan earned ₹640.25 crore net domestically and ₹1,160 crore worldwide, marking one of Bollywood’s biggest hits. Fans anticipate that their reunion in Don 3 could generate similar excitement.

With casting updates, reports suggest Kriti Sanon may now play the female lead after Kiara Advani exited. The villain’s role, initially offered to Vikrant Massey and later approached to Vijay Deverakonda, may now go to Rajat Bedi due to scheduling conflicts.

While no official announcements have been made yet, the buzz around Don 3 continues to grow, promising fans another thrilling installment in the iconic franchise.
