Sequel to ‘Dhurandhar’ Titled ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’; Teaser Receives ‘A’ Certificate from CBFC

A major update has emerged regarding Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film Dhurandhar 2. The Ranveer Singh-starrer has received a new title and its teaser has been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Here are the details.

According to reports by Bollywood Hungama, the sequel Dhurandhar 2 will be released under the title Dhurandhar: The Revenge. On 19 January, CBFC cleared the film’s teaser, which is over one minute long, and granted it an ‘A’ certificate. The teaser will be shown alongside Border 2.

The first installment of Dhurandhar, starring Akshay Khanna, Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, continues to perform strongly at the box office even 46 days post-release. The sequel is set to release two months later, creating a wave of excitement among fans.

The teaser of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been extracted from the credit notes shown at the end of the original film. After its theatrical debut, it will also be made available on digital platforms. Sources suggest that the film, featuring patriotic themes, aims to capitalize on audience enthusiasm similar to that of the upcoming Sunny Deol-Ranveer Singh project produced by Jio Studios.

Box Office Performance of ‘Dhurandhar’
In Dhurandhar, Akshay Khanna’s character, Rahman, a gangster, meets his end. However, he is expected to appear in the sequel, with Khanna having completed a week of shooting for his portions. Alongside him, Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun will also feature. The first part has netted ₹826.50 crore in India and ₹1,283.5 crore worldwide.

Release Date of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for theatrical release on 19 March, coinciding with Eid. It will clash with Yash’s Toxic, leading to a split among fans online following the release of the teasers. Both films promise a unique cinematic experience, and it remains to be seen which one will dominate the box office.
