Renowned filmmaker Shailendra Singh, a former close friend of Salman Khan, has opened up about the actor’s past relationship with Aishwarya Rai, calling it “violent” and intense. Singh, who also produced Salman’s film Phir Milenge, described Salman as once being like a “tiger in the jungle” who has now become more like a “zoo tiger.”
A Passionate but Tumultuous Love Story
Singh recalled an incident when a young, passionate Salman had visited Aishwarya’s home late at night in a fit of anger, causing a scene. “I know some details,” Singh said. “At one point, Aishwarya lived in the same building as Sachin Tendulkar. Salman visited her there. It was like a Romeo and Juliet story—intense love, strong passion. Salman is extremely passionate, and Aishwarya is dignified and highly respected.”
Aishwarya’s First Relationship
Singh, who has known Aishwarya since her modeling days, also revealed that her first relationship was with Rajeev Mulchandani. He emphasized that Aishwarya has always been private and maintained very few relationships in the industry.
Why Singh and Salman’s Friendship Ended
Singh explained that his friendship with Salman, which began during the Coffee Parade days, ended due to professional differences. “I approached him to produce a full commercial film together. But the meeting didn’t go as expected; he had invited many others, and I felt humiliated. That was our last interaction.”
From Jungle Tiger to Zoo Tiger
On Salman’s personality today, Singh said: “Salman was a lion in the jungle, now he is like a lion in a zoo. Success makes you cautious and fearful. People surround you, constantly telling you that you’re the boss and everyone else is wrong.”
