Rohit Shetty Firing Case: Arrested Accused Linked to Bishnoi Gang, Supplied Weapons

Mumbai Crime Branch has uncovered new leads in the firing incident at filmmaker-director Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu. According to police sources, the arrested suspect, Asaram Fasle, has connections with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang and was operating under the guise of a garage mechanic.

Accused’s Background
Asaram Fasle, a resident of Malavli, Pune, has been working as a mechanic in a garage in Mumbai’s Varje area for the past decade. Police investigations reveal that he has been influenced by Shubham Lonkar, the mastermind behind the Baba Siddiqui murder case and a close aide of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Four years ago, Fasle joined the Bishnoi gang under Lonkar’s influence, becoming a trusted associate and working for the gang ever since.

Weapon Supply and Firing Incident
Police said that on Lonkar’s instructions, Fasle supplied weapons to co-accused Swapnil Sakhat, who then handed them over to an unidentified shooter for the attack at Shetty’s residence. The exact source of the weapons and the amount Fasle received in exchange is still under investigation. So far, all five arrested suspects joined the Bishnoi gang to gain influence in their locality under Lonkar’s guidance.

Shooter Still at Large
The Mumbai Police remain on high alert as the actual shooter involved in the attack remains unidentified. Multiple teams are engaged in the manhunt, and Fasle’s phone is being examined for deleted messages and communication links to uncover more evidence.

Incident Timeline
On the night of February 1, 2026, 4–5 rounds were fired at Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence. Following this, police arrested four individuals: Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayki, Siddharth Deepak Yenpure, Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji, and Swapnil Bandu Sakhat. The investigation is ongoing.
