Rajpal Yadav’s Brother Claims No Financial Aid Yet; KRK Reacts to Sonu Sood’s Pledge

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has been behind bars at Delhi’s Tihar Jail for the past eight days over a 2010 cheque-bounce case, following a Delhi High Court order. The actor owes ₹9 crore, which he has been unable to repay. In response, several celebrities, including Sonu Sood, had reportedly extended their support for his financial aid. However, Yadav’s family now claims that no assistance has reached them so far.

Rajpal Yadav’s brother, Shripal Yadav, told Dainik Bhaskar that despite widespread media reports of help, the family has received nothing. “If anyone has given money, I want to know to whom and where it was given. So far, no assistance has reached us. People are only making statements on social media for publicity,” he said.

Reacting to these claims, controversial actor and critic Kamaal R. Khan (KRK), who has himself donated ₹10 lakh to Yadav, remarked on social media: “Rajpal Yadav’s brother said they haven’t received any money yet. Everyone is spreading news for publicity. They trust only Sonu Sood and are confident that he will give them ₹1–2 crore today. Let’s see if Sonu delivers.”

Earlier, KRK had also commented on Yadav’s financial history, stating: “The case involves Rajpal Yadav and his wife. His wife remains out of jail because a friend has paid ₹1.50 crore on his behalf. Rajpal has borrowed from several Bollywood figures and hasn’t repaid them. A few months ago, he was even planning to buy my friend’s apartment. Reports suggest he owns property worth ₹50 crore, which indicates that he may not intend to clear his loans.”

Why Rajpal Yadav is in Jail

Yadav had taken a ₹5 crore loan in 2010 to produce and direct the film Ata Pata Lapata. The project failed at the box office, leaving the investment at a loss. When lenders demanded repayment, he issued multiple cheques that bounced, leading to court proceedings. Though he had previously been jailed in 2016, he was released, only to surrender again on February 2, 2026. His current custody lasts until February 16, after a bail plea was rejected.

As the saga unfolds, attention remains on whether promised assistance, including that from Sonu Sood, will finally reach Rajpal Yadav and his family.
