‘Rahman Daku’s’ Son Faizal Steals the Show: Meet Bihar’s Young Sensation Ajinkya Mishra, Winning Awards at Just 9

While Akshay Khanna’s portrayal of Rahman Daku in the film Dhurandhar is receiving rave reviews, it is his on-screen son Faizal, played by Bihar’s Ajinkya Mishra, who has also captured hearts. At just 14 years old, Ajinkya is already a celebrated child actor, having won multiple awards and featured in the Netflix series Single Papa.

Ajinkya Mishra Shines in ‘Dhurandhar’

Dhurandhar has been widely praised for its ensemble cast, including Ranveer Singh as Hamza, Rakesh Bedi as Jameel Jamali, Sanjay Dutt as Chaudhary Aslam, and Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal. Among them, Rahman Daku’s sons—Faizal and Naeem—stood out. While Naeem’s character dies early in the film, Faizal is saved by Hamza. The role of Rahman Daku’s younger son is played by Ajinkya Mishra from Bhojpur, Bihar, who has already made a mark in the industry.

Interestingly, Ajinkya has no dialogues in the film, yet he successfully steals the spotlight in several key scenes, including interactions with Mohammad Alam (played by Gaurav Gera).

A Rising Child Star

Ajinkya Mishra’s journey in acting began at age three, when his parents noticed his interest in performance. His father, Jaishankar Mishra, enrolled him in modeling in 2015, where Ajinkya became a brand ambassador for several companies and appeared in over 50 TV commercials.

In 2017, he landed a role in the TV serial Vidrohi, prompting the family to move to Mumbai in 2018. He also appeared in the short film Democracy, winning accolades for his performance.

Award-Winning Talent

Ajinkya transitioned to television with his debut show Dil To Happy Hai Ji in 2019, earning the Best Child Actor Award at the same year’s award ceremony. He later won the Best Child Artist title again in 2022. His TV credits also include shows like Rakshabandhan – Rasal Apne Bhai Ki Dhal and Maharaj Ki Jai Ho.

Balancing School and Acting

Currently studying in 9th grade, Ajinkya continues to balance academics with his flourishing acting career. His role in Dhurandhar came after casting director Mukesh Chhabra contacted the family in September 2024. Initially, Ajinkya’s father was hesitant since the role had no dialogues. However, he later realized that even without lines, many key actors in the film also had limited dialogues, and the film’s release proved the impact and significance of Ajinkya’s performance.

Ajinkya Mishra is proof that talent knows no age. From commercials to acclaimed films, this young star from Bihar is making waves, and his journey is only just beginning.
