Sreeleela, the popular South Indian actress known for Pushpa 2 and Guntur Kaaram, has expressed deep distress after explicit AI-generated images of her went viral on social media. The 24-year-old actress, born into a Telugu family in the U.S., shared an emotional post revealing that she has already filed a police complaint regarding the matter and appealed to her fans to refrain from supporting such content.
AI Misuse in the Spotlight
Sreeleela highlighted the growing issue of AI misuse targeting celebrities. She joins a list of prominent actors, including Rashmika Mandanna and Keerthy Suresh, who have faced harassment due to deepfake and AI-generated obscene content.
In her Instagram post, Sreeleela wrote, “I sincerely request every social media user not to support nonsense created through AI. Technology should be used to make life easier, not to create trouble. There is a clear difference between using technology for progress and misusing it to harm others.”
A Personal Appeal for Respect and Safety
The actress emphasized the human side behind every image, stating, “Every girl is someone’s daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend, or colleague. No one has the right to manipulate their pictures. We want to be part of an industry that spreads happiness, believing that we are in a safe environment. I was unaware of many of these incidents due to my busy schedule, and I thank my well-wishers for bringing this to my attention.”
Sreeleela further urged fans to stand with victims of AI misuse: “I have always taken things lightly and focused on my world, but this is extremely distressing. I see my colleagues going through similar situations, and I speak on behalf of all. With respect and dignity, trusting our audience, I request you to support us.”
Bollywood Debut and Upcoming Projects
On the professional front, Sreeleela is set to make her Bollywood debut alongside Kartik Aryan in an Anurag Basu film. She also has Telugu projects, including Ustad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan, and Tamil projects Parashakti with Shiv Karthikeyan and Ravi Mohan.
Sreeleela’s candid post sheds light on the increasing challenges celebrities face in the digital age, calling for greater awareness, respect, and legal action against AI misuse.
