Mumbai – Global star Priyanka Chopra recently shared insights into the challenging early days of her acting career, recalling how back-to-back flops and lost opportunities shaped her journey to international fame. Priyanka, who will soon appear on The Kapil Sharma Show to promote SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi, spoke at the Bridge Summit in Abu Dhabi about the obstacles she faced as an emerging actress without industry backing.
“I didn’t have a godfather or a film family supporting me when I entered Bollywood. A year came when six of my films failed consecutively. It wasn’t that opportunities came to me—they were taken away. I had to change my path, take risks, and work relentlessly,” Priyanka said. She credited her breakthrough to Fashion (2008), a film that transformed her career trajectory.
Priyanka emphasized her work ethic: “I gave 100 percent to every project, day and night. Success requires effort, but it must not come at the cost of oneself.” She also reflected on her Hollywood journey, including Quantico, Beywatch, The White Tiger, The Matrix Resurrections, and Citadel, noting, “I feel like I’ve only just begun internationally. There’s so much more I want to do.”
Beyond acting, Priyanka is committed to supporting emerging talent globally through her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures. “We want to give a platform to actors, writers, and filmmakers seeking a stage to showcase their skills. Supporting global talent remains our key focus,” she added.
Priyanka’s story underscores the resilience and determination required to navigate both Bollywood and Hollywood, making her a true inspiration for aspiring artists worldwide.
