Priya Sachdev Submits Evidence in Court: Explains ₹60 Crore Account, London Property, and Complete Financial Accounting

The legal battle over the late businessman Sanjay Kapoor’s will continues, with his widow Priya Sachdev presenting detailed evidence before the Delhi High Court on 3 December, addressing claims regarding college fees for Karishma Kapoor’s daughter and alleged financial irregularities.

College Fees Paid

Represented by advocate Shyel Trehan, Priya Sachdev refuted allegations that two months of the college fee, amounting to ₹95 lakh, remained unpaid. She submitted receipts confirming full payment and stated that the next installment is scheduled for December. The court was informed that Priya has been managing educational and other expenses of the family since Sanjay Kapoor’s demise.

Response to Rani Kapoor

Priya Sachdev’s team also addressed accusations from her mother-in-law Rani Kapoor, who had alleged attempts to seize the late Kapoor’s properties. The legal team presented a detailed property list and clarified that all transactions are fully accounted for, with no money sent abroad.

Clarifying the ₹60 Crore Claim

Regarding the controversial ₹60 crore salary claim, Priya’s lawyers explained:

  • In 2023–24, Sanjay Kapoor was a director at AIPL, earning a salary of ₹10 crore.
  • He received a ₹50 crore bonus for the financial year, of which ₹23.5 crore was deducted as TDS, leaving him with ₹36.5 crore in hand.
  • Out of this, ₹28.5 crore was spent on London properties and other real estate investments.

Conclusion

Priya Sachdev’s submissions provide transparent accounting of all funds and property transactions, reinforcing her stance that all family obligations, including Karishma Kapoor’s daughter’s education, have been properly met.
