A formal police complaint has been lodged against renowned singer Kumar Sanu and music director Sanjeev Chaturvedi over allegations of financial fraud. The complaint, filed by music producer Sanjay Bedia Girgaukar, claims that the duo failed to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for songs created under Bedia Film Music, despite receiving payments totaling ₹15–20 lakh.
Allegations of Fraud and Breach of Trust
According to Sanjay Bedia, he had produced ten songs for the company and made the agreed payments to Sanjeev Chaturvedi. However, the required NOCs for the songs were never provided, preventing him from releasing or promoting the music. When he contacted Kumar Sanu regarding the issue, the singer allegedly claimed that no payment was made to him for the project by Sanjeev Chaturvedi.
Sanjay alleges that both Kumar Sanu and Sanjeev Chaturvedi were colluding, refusing to provide song rights and even filing copyright strikes on his YouTube channel after the songs were released. He further claimed that an additional ₹2 lakh was demanded to have the copyright strikes removed.
Complaint Filed with Police
Sanjay has officially filed a written complaint at the local police station, describing the treatment he received as highly unfortunate, especially for a small producer. He urged public support and justice, stating that he possesses audio evidence in which Kumar Sanu allegedly admits that he did not receive the payment.
“This kind of misconduct discourages new and smaller producers from entering the industry,” Sanjay added, emphasizing the negative impact of such actions on emerging talent.
The complaint is now under investigation, and authorities are expected to take appropriate action to resolve the matter.
