Despite being banned in Pakistan, Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster “Dhurandhar” continues to dominate the neighboring country’s entertainment scene. A viral video now reveals that pirated DVDs of the film are being sold openly in Pakistan for just 16 INR (50 Pakistani Rupees).
Vlogger Carl Rock Investigates
New Zealand-based YouTuber Carl Rock recently visited the Rainbow Centre in Karachi, where he discovered DVDs of “Dhurandhar” being sold in local shops. In the video, Carl approaches a shopkeeper displaying a poster featuring Ranveer Singh and confirms that the DVDs are newly released pirated copies.
Speaking to the shopkeeper, Carl remarks, “Indian films are banned in Pakistan, but look at what I found. And this is a brand-new film, yes, from India.” The shopkeeper confirms the availability, adding that the DVD is priced at 50 Pakistani Rupees (approximately ₹16). Carl comments, “That’s really cheap!”
Ranveer Singh’s Roots Discussed
Carl also shares some trivia about Ranveer Singh, noting, “He’s Sindhi. I think his grandparents were from this city and migrated to India during Partition.”
Online Reaction
The video has gone viral online, especially amid recent political tensions that have kept Indian films out of Pakistani theaters. Viewers shared mixed reactions—one wrote, “Why so much hatred between the two countries?” Another commented, “Tensions aside, hope things change someday.” A third noted, “This film seems to be even more popular in Pakistan than in India.”
Streaming Success Despite Ban
Despite the ban, “Dhurandhar” performed exceptionally well on streaming platforms. Following its digital release on Netflix in early January, the film topped the World Top 10 Non-English Films list, becoming #1 in both India and Pakistan.
Sequel “Dhurandhar: The Revenge”
The first film, released theatrically on December 5, 2025, was a massive success, grossing over ₹1,300 crore worldwide. Its sequel, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” is scheduled to hit theaters on March 19, 2026, and is highly anticipated by fans across the subcontinent.
