Nikitin Dheer Recalls Emotional Call from Dharmendra Uncle from ICU: “He Said He’ll Be Home Soon

Even though Bollywood legend Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, his memories remain alive with fellow actors and fans alike. Actor Nikitin Dheer shared a heartfelt anecdote about Dharmendra, recalling an emotional phone call from the ICU shortly after Nikitin’s father passed away.

An Emotional ICU Call

Dharmendra’s departure has left a void in the film industry that cannot be filled. Nikitin revealed that during Dharmendra’s hospitalization, the veteran actor personally called his mother, Anita Dheer, expressing his love and concern. “He told my mother that he would be home soon, and not to worry,” Nikitin shared, describing the call as a glimpse into Dharmendra’s beautiful heart.

A Lifelong Bond with the Superstar

Nikitin also highlighted the decades-long relationship his family shared with Dharmendra. He recalled fond conversations with his late father, Pankaj Dheer, discussing the greatest actors in Indian cinema. “We would often talk about who was the most successful hero in our industry. My father would say without blinking—Dharmendra Uncle. He would add, the most masculine, the most handsome, the most humble, and golden-hearted… completely original—Dharmendra Uncle,” Nikitin wrote, sharing old photographs of his father with Dharmendra.

More Than an Actor—A Family Figure

For Nikitin and his sister, Dharmendra was more than a celebrated actor—he was family. “We grew up in his lap, receiving only love and blessings. We always saw him smiling in a way that could light up the entire room,” he said, describing Dharmendra’s passing as a deeply personal loss.

Gratitude for a Childhood Filled with Joy

Nikitin expressed his gratitude to the late actor: “Thank you for filling our childhood with joy. Thank you for showing us what a human being can and should be. The void left by you can never be filled. There will never be another Dharmendra.”

Dharmendra’s Final Days

Dharmendra had been undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier in November before being discharged on November 12 to continue treatment at home. After a prolonged illness, he passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. His final rites were held at Pawan Hans Crematorium, attended by prominent Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar, who paid their last respects to the legendary actor.
