New Twist in Sanjay Kapoor Property Dispute: Mother Rani Alleges Priya Sent Money Abroad, Denies 1900 Cr Property to Karishma’s Children

The ongoing property dispute following the death of businessman Sanjay Kapoor has taken a new turn. Sanjay’s mother, Rani Kapoor, has leveled serious allegations against his second wife Priya Sachdev, claiming she orchestrated false witnesses and transferred Sanjay’s money abroad. Rani also asserted that Karishma Kapoor’s children did not receive the alleged ₹1,900 crore property.

Sanjay Kapoor passed away from a cardiac arrest on 12 June 2025, leaving behind a complex estate. Since then, legal battles have ensued among his former wife Karishma Kapoor’s children, his widow Priya Sachdev, and Rani Kapoor. While Karishma’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, accused Priya of manipulating the will, Rani Kapoor has now added further allegations in court.

Mother Accuses Priya of Concealing Property
On 1 December 2025, during proceedings at the Delhi High Court, Rani Kapoor accused Priya of attempting to seize Sanjay’s property immediately after his death and of hiding key details regarding his finances. Rani’s lawyers revealed that Sanjay’s annual salary was ₹60 crore, and he owned luxury properties and a 6.5% stake in Comstar valued at around ₹650 crore. However, Priya allegedly reported only ₹1.7 crore in bank accounts, leaving Rani suspicious of financial mismanagement and potential transfers abroad.

Dispute Over 1900 Crore Trust Property
Priya Sachdev had claimed that Karishma’s children were given ₹1,900 crore worth of property via the RK Trust, limiting their further claims on Sanjay’s estate. Rani Kapoor’s lawyers countered that as the trust’s settlor, Rani is the primary beneficiary and that Priya could neither authorize such transfers nor bypass Rani’s legal rights. They further alleged that Priya failed to disclose the full details of Sanjay’s assets to the court.

Claims of False Witnesses
Rani Kapoor also accused Priya of preparing false witnesses to influence the estate settlement. She claimed that Dinesh Aggarwal was appointed as a director of Orius on Priya’s instructions the day after Sanjay’s death, and that the witnesses to the contested will were acting solely under Priya’s direction, compromising impartiality.

Mother Questions Exclusion from Will
Rani Kapoor expressed shock that her name was not included in Sanjay’s will, noting that Sanjay always credited his mother for his success. Her lawyers argued that the will in question could not legally exclude Rani and emphasized that the family should have transparency in managing Sanjay’s assets.

Legal Implications
The dispute underscores the complexities of blended families, trust management, and estate planning. With allegations of financial concealment, foreign transfers, and manipulation of witnesses, the Delhi High Court is now reviewing interim measures to preserve the current status of Sanjay Kapoor’s assets.
