Akashdeep Saigal, who had once accused Salman Khan of sabotaging his career and even physically assaulting him during his stint on Bigg Boss 5, has finally spoken about the controversy after several years. The actor, now making a comeback on television with Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 7, shared his thoughts on the past allegations and his ongoing professional journey.
Saigal, who rose to fame with Ekta Kapoor’s iconic TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, appeared as a finalist in Bigg Boss 5. During that time, he made headlines for his claims against Salman Khan. However, in a recent interview with Times of India TV, Akashdeep clarified that there is no personal feud with the superstar.
Addressing the Controversy
Akashdeep said, “I’m glad you’ve raised this topic because it has been circulating in the media for quite some time. To put it simply—sometimes a story starts from a single point, and as it spreads, layers get added, transforming it into something entirely different, almost like a rumor. As I have said before, my decision to step away from television was deliberate. Ekta had confirmed this early on. I’ve worked on many shows, whether it was Bigg Boss, I’m a Celebrity, Khatron Ke Khiladi, or Total Wipeout. I’ve never let outside opinions control me.”
He added, “I care about people’s opinions, and it’s natural to do so, but it doesn’t affect me. If you allow the world to dominate you, your peace of mind is lost, and you become unhappy. I never wanted that. I didn’t clarify things at the time, which allowed stories to spread elsewhere.”
No Hard Feelings Towards Salman Khan
Akashdeep emphasized, “I was upset with my parents at one point, but that doesn’t mean I harbor hatred toward anyone or that someone can ruin my life. Regarding Salman Khan, absolutely not. He is Salman Khan, and I am Akashdeep Saigal—now also known as Akash Skywalker. He has his world, I have mine. People love him, and people love me. I hold no enmity towards him or anyone in the industry.”
He further stated, “I have no fear or need to impress Salman Khan. People say you shouldn’t mess with him because of his influence, but why should that matter? Differences can exist in human relationships, but they don’t have to be turned into a big PR stunt. I never felt the need to hold a press conference to explain myself because there was nothing to clarify. If people enjoy gossip and rumors, why should I deny them that? Everyone gets their share of publicity. But I am happy, peaceful, and consider myself a child of the universe. None of these things bother me.”
The Original Allegations
For context, during Bigg Boss 5, Akashdeep had claimed that Salman Khan often tried to demean him and that he was physically assaulted when he opposed him. He had also accused the superstar of sabotaging his career by keeping him away from films and television. The show had witnessed multiple confrontations between the two actors.
With his return in Naagin 7, Akashdeep Saigal is once again in the spotlight, ready to focus on his craft rather than past controversies.
