Mimi Chakraborty Faces Stage Harassment Like Mouni Roy; Asked to Leave Mid-Event, Insulted on Microphone

Bengali actress and politician Mimi Chakraborty recently revealed a humiliating incident she faced at a public event in Bangawan, West Bengal. She shared on social media that she had been invited to perform, but during the event, she was abruptly asked to leave the stage without prior notice, while her fans were eagerly waiting to meet her. She was also insulted over the microphone, which publicly humiliated her.

Mimi wrote, “On Republic Day, we celebrate freedom and equality, yet even today, the freedom and dignity of women and artists are easily violated. I have built my image and career through my own efforts. Remaining silent now will normalize disrespect towards artists.”

She added, “I was invited by the Gopalganj Yuvak Sangh Club to perform, but in the middle of the program, I was suddenly asked to leave the stage in front of the audience. Many people, including fans, had come to meet me and take photos. Being forced off stage and insulted on the microphone not only embarrassed me but also tarnished my public image. I left quietly to maintain decorum, but I have now raised this matter with the authorities and trust the legal process. Silence today will encourage repetition tomorrow.”

Mouni Roy Faced Similar Treatment

She later explained on social media that despite her refusal, elderly men touched her inappropriately and audience members made offensive comments, forcing her to walk off the stage.
