Mumbai: The ongoing inheritance dispute over the late businessman Sanjay Kapoor’s ₹30,000 crore estate has taken a sharp turn as his sister, Mandhira Kapoor Smith, has once again leveled serious allegations against her brother’s widow, Priya Sachdev Kapoor. Mandhira claims Priya is attempting to erase Sanjay Kapoor’s lineage and questions her intentions regarding the family inheritance.
Speaking in a recent podcast, Mandhira stated, “We, as the Kapoor family, will carry forward our father’s hard-earned legacy. Priya is not the face of this family or the Sona Comstar group. It feels as if our child has been kidnapped, and we will find them.” She challenged Priya to publicly acknowledge that Sanjay Kapoor did not care for the children from his previous marriage to Karisma Kapoor and accused her of prioritizing her own interests over the family’s legacy.
Mandhira further alleged that Priya is using her late husband’s money against his own family, attempting to secure the inheritance for herself and her children, while sidelining Sanjay’s previous heirs. She emphasized that she will not allow her father’s legacy to be destroyed and intends to pursue the truth at every level. Mandhira also expressed doubts over Sanjay Kapoor’s cause of death, claiming he was healthy and determined to uncover all facts.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Kapoor’s children from his marriage with Karisma Kapoor, Samaira and Kiaan, are locked in a legal battle against Priya Sachdev over the validity of the will presented by her. Last month, following a court hearing on 17 November, the Delhi High Court’s Joint Registrar Gagandeep Jindal issued notices to Priya and the executor of the alleged will, Shraddha Suri Marwah, directing them to submit a response within three weeks. The petitioners have claimed that the will is fraudulent and fabricated, intended to disinherit them from their late father’s estate.
The inheritance dispute shows no signs of slowing, with family tensions escalating publicly as both sides prepare their legal arguments.
