Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch has issued a lookout notice (LOC) against Harry Boxer, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, in connection with threatening actor Ranveer Singh. The police are actively searching for the gangster, who allegedly sent extortionate voice messages demanding ₹10 crore.
Details of the Threat
The threats were delivered to Ranveer Singh’s manager via an American phone number. In the voice messages, the sender, identifying himself as Harry Boxer, demanded ₹20 crore, warning dire consequences if the actor did not comply. Following this, Ranveer Singh’s security was increased.
The Mumbai Crime Branch verified the voice notes through Punjab and Haryana police. The analysis suggested the voice closely resembled that of Harry Boxer. The threats came shortly after a shooting incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence on 2 February 2026.
FIR Filed and LOC Issued
Ranveer Singh’s manager, Vijay Subramanyan, founder and CEO of Artist Network, filed a complaint after receiving multiple threatening calls and voice notes from an international number beginning with +340, linked to the Virgin Islands group. On 17 February, the South Region Cyber Cell, along with the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC), registered an FIR against Harry Boxer.
An official stated that Boxer allegedly threatened Ranveer Singh repeatedly, demanding ₹20 crore. The lookout notice has now been issued to ensure he cannot escape law enforcement.
Content of the Threats
The voice messages reportedly stated:
“Ranveer Singh, you backed out after making a statement—either retract it or face the consequences. I’m leaving this note for you. Get in line, along with Rohit Shetty… We claim responsibility for the shooting in Portugal today at Marina Grand and Sukhdev’s shop.”
Investigation into Foreign Handlers
Police are also probing the role of Arju Bishnoi, allegedly a foreign handler providing logistical support to shooters outside India. While Boxer sent the voice messages, Arju Bishnoi is believed to have orchestrated operations from abroad.
Who is Harry Boxer?
Harry Boxer’s real name is Harichand. Earlier, he trained to join the police and practiced boxing, earning the nickname “Boxer.” Later, he joined the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, engaging in threatening and criminal activities. Multiple cases of murder and attempted murder have been registered against him in Sikar, Dholpur, Jaipur, Karauli, and Alwar.
Police continue to track him, and Ranveer Singh has been advised to remain vigilant during shoots and travel.
