Netflix is once again dominating the OTT space, offering a mix of entertainment that appeals to audiences across genres. Leading the current trend is Kunal Kemmu’s recently released web series Single Papa, which has quickly captured viewers’ attention and is now trending at No. 1 on the platform. Meanwhile, the popular Hindi crime series Delhi Crime maintains a strong presence, ranking fourth in the top 10 list.
‘Single Papa’ Becomes an Instant Hit
Released on 12 December, Single Papa comprises six episodes blending drama and comedy. The series explores modern family dynamics and parenting through the story of a regular man who unexpectedly embraces a significant responsibility and gradually transforms himself to fulfill it.
Kunal Kemmu plays Gaurav Gehlot, a man who typically avoids responsibilities. One day, he unexpectedly encounters a small child in the backseat of a car and feels an instant connection, deciding he wants to adopt the child. His decision surprises his family, each of whom has their own opinions. While Gaurav is prepared to meet the adoption agency’s requirements, Mrs. Nehra, the agency worker, doubts whether a single father can raise the child successfully, citing common mistakes in male parenting.

Kemmu’s portrayal of Gaurav has been praised for its warmth and relatability. Supporting actors Manoj Pahwa and Ayesha Raza Mishra, playing Gaurav’s parents, have also won audience appreciation. Since its release, Single Papa has resonated with viewers for its heartfelt narrative and lighthearted storytelling.
